Horizon: Bamboo Flute @Carnegie Hall
As the producer of Horizon: Bamboo Flute, I led the creation of a concert that paid homage to the elegance of traditional Chinese music while subtly incorporating modern influences. Held at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, this performance featured acclaimed bamboo flute virtuoso Xiaoran Liu, whose exquisite technique and deep understanding of Chinese classical music captivated the audience. Accompanied by pianist Sze Tung (Patience) Ko, the concert presented a repertoire of traditional Chinese compositions, preserving the authenticity of this art form. Towards the end of the performance, Xiaoran Liu introduced a fresh element by playing select pop music pieces on the bamboo flute, hinting at the instrument’s adaptability beyond classical traditions.

Bamboo Beats @ NEBULA
Taking this cultural experience a step further, Bamboo Beats at Nebula, one of New York’s premier nightclubs, redefined the perception of traditional Chinese instruments. In this electrifying afterparty, Xiaoran Liu collaborated with DJs Ditto and Future, seamlessly blending the ethereal sounds of the bamboo flute with modern electronic beats and DJ sets. This innovative fusion created a dynamic contrast—where ancient musical heritage met the pulsating rhythms of contemporary nightlife.

This dual-format event—one deeply rooted in tradition and the other boldly experimental—embodied FUCEAN’s mission to bridge cultural heritage with modern audiences. By curating an immersive, multi-dimensional experience, Horizon: Bamboo Flute not only celebrated the artistry of Chinese music but also expanded its presence in new and unexpected cultural spaces.
